Field Trips to the Library

If you’re planning your field trips for the upcoming semester, we’d love to host your class at the library! You can select from the below field trip packages to best meet your class’s needs.  Best of all: all of our field trips are free!

Field Trip A: Storytime

Come visit the library’s Children’s Department for a 30 minute storytime program. This program is geared toward preschool-aged children. Families are welcome to join the fun and enjoy the games and activities in the Children’s department after the program. Groups up to 70 total people can be accommodated.  Program themes can be customized based on library programming guidelines and materials availability.

Field Trip B: Story & Library Tour

Come visit the library’s Children’s Department for a story program followed by a guided library tour. This program is geared toward school-aged kids and can accommodate up to 150 participants (including adult caregivers/parents). In groups of over 70 participants, students will be split into two groups that will rotate between stories and the guided tour. Program themes can be customized based on library programming guidelines and materials availability.

Field Trip C: B. Joan Keefer Genealogy and Local History Center Tour

Come visit the Keefer Center within the Huntington City-Township Public Library, learn about what we do there, and make a family tree.

If you’re interested in booking any of these for your class, click here to request your field trip at least 4 weeks in advance of your desired visit. We are happy to work with you on dates and times, but due to staffing needs, not all days of the week may be available at all times.
