Literacy Services

The goal of Literacy Services is to help improve the reading, writing, math, and ESL skills of those in need. Our tutors volunteer their time to help one-on-one, and we work with other organizations in Huntington to spread literacy throughout Huntington and Markle.

All of our services are free and confidential.

One-on-one tutoring services

Our volunteer tutors are here to help one-on-one with:

  • Reading, writing, and/or math skills
  • TASC (formerly the GED) test preparation
  • Workforce literacy
  • English as a second language (ESL)
  • And more!

Connect with a tutor

Are you struggling with reading or math? Would you like to speak better English? Are you trying to prepare for a test and you just don’t know where to begin? There’s no need to struggle alone! Don’t hesitate to stop by or call for an appointment to get started with a tutor. You can also fill out this form below.

What would you like help with?

Share your knowledge – become a tutor

Are you friendly? Patient? Passionate and persistent? Do you enjoy meeting new people? Then you have what it takes to become a tutor! We always need tutors. Our biggest need is for math tutors, but reading and English language tutors are also in demand. We also help students prepare for any test such as the HSE, SAT, Citizenship, or the Driver’s License exam.

Training and materials are provided at no cost to you.
