The Huntington Library will proudly host Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz. She will visit the Huntington City-Township Public Library Thursday, April 14th at 6pm, when the library will hold a Family Learning Open House. She will read a story and follow it with a meet and greet. There will also be various stations for parents and children to visit where they can learn about different early education topics - including Dialogic Reading, The Importance of Building Vocabulary, Rhymes, Story Starters, a craft station, and more. The Open House is geared towards the preschool - grade 5 age range, as well as for parents. It's free for all attendees, and is open to children and families beyond Huntington. It is also part of our celebration for National Library Week and the role libraries play in early childhood education. The Hoosier Family of Readers, an initiative by Glenda Ritz, has also provided supplies for attendees to take home.
