November will mark the 100th anniversary of the end of “The Great War” also known as World War I. The movie “Wings” (1927) celebrates those brave fighter pilots who gave for their country, sometimes with their lives. This spectacular picture has been meticulously restored and is considered by many to be the last of the great silent films. It also won the very first Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Special Effects. Starring Clara Bow, Charles “‘Buddy” Rogers and Richard Arlen. Look fast for Gary Cooper in a short but memorable cameo!
