Checking out a book or audiobook from either our main library or branch is not the only way to enjoy the latest bestsellers. Out patrons can check out eBooks and eAudiobooks from our digital collection as well! We have a variety of items available for check out online, and more information can be found about each option below.

OverDrive: eBooks and eAudiobooks

Check out adult and young adult fiction and non-fiction as eBooks or eAudiobooks through our eContent library. As part of the Northeast Indiana Digital Library (NIDL) consortium, the Huntington City-Township Public Library is able to provide an ever-growing collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks for our patrons, free of charge. By pooling our money with other surrounding area libraries, we are able to provide a larger and more varied collection of eContent available to all of our patrons across the consortium. The collection is available through the Overdrive Media Console app and at http://nidl.lib.overdrive.com.

How to download eContent through Overdrive

  1. Browse the NIDL website for an eBook or eAudiobook to check out. You can search by title, subject, author, format & availability.
  2. Add selections to your “Cart.” Note: if a title is not available, you may place a hold. You’ll receive an email when the title is available.
  3. Click the [highlight color=”blue”]Download[/highlight] button under each title to launch the software. See below to find out what software and devices are supported.

Tumblebooks: eBooks for kids and adults

TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of e-books for children in grades K-3. The collection includes old time favorites as animated story books such as The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, Diary of a Worm, How I Became a Pirate, Miss Malarkey Doesn’t Live in Room 10, One Duck Stuck, as well as favourite fairy tales such as Jack and the Beanstalk and Old Mother Hubbard. Children will also enjoy books in English, French and Spanish, read-alongs, non-fiction books and National Geographic Videos.

AudioBookCloud allows you to listen to your favorite audio books with just a click of a button. Listen online to audio books in many different categories: fiction, non-fiction, classics and even Spanish language audio books! There are over 1,160 books in the collection and more are always being added. These books are always available, never on hold, and no need to download. Browse. Click. Listen. It’s that easy!

TumbleBookCloud Junior is a great option for adventurous young readers who wish to go beyond the picture book collection in TumbleBookLibrary! TumbleBookCloud Junior contains early reader chapter books, children’s classics, graphic novels, children’s audio books and new National Geographic videos – many of which are paired with our e-books. This collection is for Grades 3-6.

TumbleBookCloud is a collection of videos and chapter books in categories which include: Ebooks (Shakespeare, poetry, non-fiction, science, history, geography, etc.), Read-Alongs, Graphic Novels, Videos (from National Geographic!), and Audio Books. Our books feature adjustable text sizes, full narration, and a read-along function which highlights text as it is read. As a subscriber, you have access to lesson plans, quizzes and our Common Core Portal! These features make TBC a great tool for reluctant readers and ESL students. Plus, all these options can be switched to manual so readers can read at their own pace.
