Huntington City-Township Public Library invites pumpkin decorators of all ages to enter our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest, open to individuals, families, groups, and clubs of all kinds. Between October 19-23, decorated pumpkins may be brought to either branch of Huntington City-Township Public Library. The HCTPL Main Library is located at 255 West Park Drive, Huntington, and the HCTPL Markle Branch Library is located at 197 East Morse Street, Markle. Pumpkins should not be carved, but can be decorated with markers, paints, yarn, cloth, hats, or any such item. Read more
The mission of the PAWS-TO-READ PROGRAM is to improve the literacy skills of children with the assistance of registered canine reading companions in a fun and relaxed environment. In PAWS-TO-READ, children ages 6-12 participate in one-on-one sessions in which they practice reading aloud to trained therapy dogs. Read more
Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library for a Stuffed Animal Sleepover! Bring one stuffed animal anytime on Tuesday the 14th or Wednesday the 15th. Make sure you also bring a shoebox without your name and the name of your stuffed animal printed on it, so that your stuffed animal has somewhere to sleep. You can pick up your stuffed animal on Monday, August 20th or Tuesday, August 21st, as well as a photo of all the fun activities your stuffed animal did during the sleepover!
Thursday, July 26 through Friday, July 27 is the 2012 Summer Reading Program Carnival. Participants in the Summer Reading Program can come to celebrate the reading they completed over the summer by playing games, eating popcorn and winning prizes!
The carnival is open on Thursday from 1-3:30pm and 5:30-7:30pm and on Friday from 10-12am.
