It’s been a while since we’ve refreshed our library cards. They’ve served us well in the years we’ve had them, but over time we’ve seen some things we could improve on and ways our library cards could be more useful and enjoyable for our patrons. And with the building of the new Markle Branch, the white ones currently in use are now outdated. So today, we’re very excited to show your our brand new library card design!
We’ve taken your feedback throughout the years and applied your suggestions to our new cards. First, you’ll notice that they’re not white — they’re now our blue and lime green colors. These should stand out strongly against all of the other cards you have in your wallet! You’ll also see that there is a wallet card and a keychain card. In the past, you’ve had to choose which you’d rather have. Not anymore! Each library user now get a wallet card and a keychain card. This will be very helpful for parents and those prone to losing things alike! And finally, they’re still that thick, durable card quality you’re used to with our now retired white cards.
Everyone is welcome to swap out their old card for a brand new one, regardless of your current card’s expiration date. We know how much more useful these cards will be, and we want everyone to get the opportunity to upgrade as soon as desired. The card is free, as well – so if you’ve lost your card and have put off replacing it because of the $2 replacement fee, now is a great time to come and get your new card at no extra cost. This free replacement period is a limited time offer, however.
Please do note, however, that your new card will mean your library card number will change. For those of you who have memorized your library card number, this means the number you’ve memorized will no longer work. We are not forcing the upgrade, so if you wish to keep your current card you are more than welcome to do so.
These cards are in stock at both the Huntington and Markle libraries effective immediately, so stop in and ask about getting your new card today!
