The Huntington Library is proud to welcome Mary Beth Dunnichay, Olympic Diver on the 2008 Beijing Olympic Team, to speak at the Huntington Library Tuesday, June 14th at 5:30pm. She’ll speak all about her time at the Olympics, the training involved to get there, and other related subjects. Mary Beth became a U.S. Olympic Team member (synchronized 10-meter) in 2008. She was the youngest member of the U.S. delegation in all sports. A brief list of her accomplishments includes being a 2008 Olympian (placing 5th in synchronized 10-meter), a 2009 World Championships silver medalist in synchronized 10-meter with Haley Ishimatsu, a three-time World Championships team member (2007, 2009, 2011), and a 2007 Pan American Games bronze medalist in synchronized 10-meter. Her talk is open to all ages.
The annual Master Gardener’s Father’s Day Make It & Take It Craft will take place at the Huntington Library Saturday, June 11th at 10am. Children ages 5 though grade 5 are invited to come plant a succulent and make a Father’s Day card to take home for dad’s special day. A short story time will also be included. Registration is limited to 25 for supplies purposes, so make sure you sign up by calling the Youth Services desk at 260-356-2900.
There will also be a Bicycle License Plate Craft held at the Huntington Library June 13th from 10am-noon and June 14th from 2-6pm, and at the Markle Library June 28th from 2-4pm. Children in grades 1-6 can come any time during the craft hours to make a license plate for their bikes. Registration is not required and the craft is free.
