Teens and technology go together like peanut butter and jelly. So, it makes sense there’s an entire week each year dedicated to teens and technology — Teen Tech Week! This year Teen Tech Week is March 6-12, so the Huntington Library will be hosting a variety of projects and game nights related to technology. Monday, March 7th at 6:30pm will be a Minecraft gaming night, where teens can come build and mine on the library’s own Minecraft server. Computers and Minecraft accounts will be provided. Tuesday, March 8th at 6:30pm the library will host a paper light box craft. Come make a glowing lightbox out of paper and batteries! And on Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30pm the library will be holding a Tech Take Apart. Come see the “guts” of the technology we use every day — from computers to phones and more. All of these programs are free, for teens, and supplies are all provided.
Humana will be hosting Health Information Seminars at the Huntington Library every second Friday at 2pm March through May, as well. On March 11th, Humana will provide suggestions for what you can do before, during, and after your Doctor’s visit to maximize the benefits you receive from your time there during their Maximize Your Doctor Visit session. April 15th will be a Social Security Educational Workshop — gain a clearer understanding of the process, maximize your benefits and take the steps you need to achieve Social Security wellness. The final session takes place May 13th and is a Medicare Educational Seminar — if you’re newly eligible for Medicare or turning 65 in the next 12 months, a
representative from Humana will be on hand to answer questions and simplify Medicare for you.
