The Huntington Library will hold a Writer’s Workshop for children in grades K-3. Library staff will help kids brainstorm ideas and characters, organize their story, and finalize it – including illustrations! Staff will also have information on hand for the annual PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest for those interested in participating. The workshop takes place Saturday, February 27th from 2-3:30pm.
The Huntington Library, in conjunction with Canine Companions, is now accepting signups for the Paws-To-Read Spring sessions. Paws-To-Read allows children to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a registered therapy dog. Children who participate in Paws-To-Read nationwide show improved reading skills & self-esteem, find reading more enjoyable, and feel more pride in their accomplishments. Sessions will be held free of charge on select Saturday mornings in March and April at the Huntington Main Library. To sign up, call the Youth Services desk at 260-356-2900.
