It can often be tricky to find volunteer opportunities in the community. It frequently means going door to door, checking individual groups and agencies to see what’s available. The Huntington Library aims to make this easier by hosting a Volunteer Fair from 1-4pm Monday, January 18th. Community organizations will have tables set up, allowing those interested in volunteering to see what each group has available and where they need the most help. Organizations participating (but not limited to) include the Literacy Coalition, Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, Huntington House, Pathfinders, Purdue Extension Office, Huntington Humane Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, The American Red Cross, and Love, Inc. — with more groups signing up each day. The volunteer options are geared towards teens and adults.
This program is held on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. For more information on the program, call the Huntington Library at 260-356-0824 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are a volunteer organization and would like to participate, contact library staff member Jessi Brown at 260-356-0824 or email@example.com. The Huntington Library is located at 255 West Park Drive, Huntington.
