Have you tried to set New Year Resolutions and never been successful? Do you want to make meaningful changes in your life in 2016, if only you knew how to make them stick? Karen Hinshaw of the Purdue University Extension Office of Huntington County understands. She will hold a class Tuesday, January 5th at 6pm at the Huntington Library on setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals (which stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timetable) for the new year. Participate in lessons and activities geared towards setting realistic goals that you can confidently achieve.
Everyone knows physical activity is important, but many of us struggle to find a way to exercise we enjoy or that fits into our busy schedule. Perhaps we even think we’re getting too old to exercise. Shannon Hatfield of the Purdue Extension Office will demonstrate how indoor walking might just be the exercise you’re looking for. The class will be 5 sessions long, taking place on Fridays from January 8 through February 5 at 10am at the Huntington Library. Each session will cover different aspects to indoor walking and fitness, from warming up and cooling down to properly taking your pulse.
