Did you know you could check out art prints with your library card? It’s true! And now you can not only check out art prints, but original art by Indiana artists as well. The Huntington Library is proud to add 8 original pieces of art—ranging from paintings to photographs and papercraft—to the collection. The art is on display at the Huntington Library through November, and can be checked out for months at a time starting December 1st. If you’ve got a blank wall in your house you’d like to spice up for the holiday season, come check out the art and see if it’s a good fit for you!
Teens are invited to the Huntington Library Tuesday, December 1st at 6pm for a Purse Make It & Take It craft. Come learn how to make a purse from library staff member and expert seamstress Mary Kay Zahm, and take your new purse home for yourself or as a gift. The craft is free and all supplies will be provided; due to supply limitations, the program is limited to the first 12 to sign up.
Homemade candy makes a wonderful and personal gift during the holidays, but it always seems so complicated. Library staff member and leader of the Fabulous Foodies Cookbook Club, Linda Smith, will host a Candymaking for Giftgiving workshop that proves how simple homemade candy and treats can be. Join her Monday, November 30th at 6pm in the Huntington Library as she creates 4-5 quick and easy candies, as well as decorative ways to package them as gifts. The candy packages will then be assembled into a gift basket and given away as a door prize to one lucky attendee. This program is free and open to teens ages 13+ and adults.
To sign up for the Purse Make It and Take It craft, please call the Youth Services Department at 260-356-2900.
