Has it been awhile since you’ve been in a relationship with a good book? Are you wanting to get yourself out there but don’t know where to begin looking? Your library is here to be your literary matchmaker!
From Valentine’s Day through March 14th, the Huntington and Markle Public Libraries have Blind Date with a Book displays at the main desks. Library staff have chosen some of their favorite titles—as well as classics—from a wide variety of genres and decorated them, hiding the book’s title and author. What you check out is a complete mystery. Take home the book, unwrap it, read it, and return it. When you bring it back, let us know whether it was a success and you’ll be going on a second date, or if it was a bust and you’re breaking up with the book. Who knows—maybe you’ll find your literary soulmate!
Each participation in the program enters you in a prize drawing. Entries will be posted at the main desks, as well as our website and Facebook page. The program is open for teens and adults, each with their own display, and is free to participate.
