The Huntington City-Township Public Library and the Huntington County Purdue Extension Office will hold a Block Party for Pre-K children ages 3-6. The event will begin with a story time for the children while the parents learn about the brain and developmental benefits playing with blocks provides. Karen Hinshaw, the Huntington County Purdue Extension Office Director, will inform the parents on how early block play provides aptitude and achievement improvements, impulse control, increased vocabulary, and more. After the story and information sessions, parents and children will come together for block play time. There will be various stations with different block types to enjoy.
The event will take place Thursday, November 6th, and there are two sessions: 10am and 2pm. It will be located at the Huntington Main Library, 255 West Park Drive, Huntington. The event is free to participate, but registration is required as each session is limited to 20 children; call 260-356-2900 to register your child.
