The Huntington City-Township Public Library and Markle Branch, in conjunction with Canine Companions, are now accepting signups for the Paws-To-Read Fall sessions. Paws-To-Read allows children to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a registered therapy dog. Children who participate in Paws-To-Read nationwide show improved reading skills & self-esteem, find reading more enjoyable, and feel more pride in their accomplishments.
Sessions will be held free of charge on select Saturday mornings in October and November at both the Huntington Main (255 West Park Drive, Huntington) and Markle Branch (197 East Morse Street, Markle) libraries. Children ages 6-12 can participate, and sessions fill up quickly. Please call the Children’s Desk at 260-356-2900 to sign up for a Huntington session and the Markle Library at 260-758-3332 for a Markle session. Registration is required.
