Today’s Tuesday Tip covers a feature of our online catalog that can make organizing your to-read list easy: Book Lists!
Our online catalog lets you add books you’ve found to online Book Lists. To find your lists, log into the online catalog at http://hctp.ent.sirsi.net/ with your library card number and PIN. Once logged in, you will see My Lists at the top of the page (see left image). If you have never visited your lists before, you will have a Temporary list, To Read list, and I’d Recommend list as your default lists. You can add more, however, as I’ve shown in the image.
To add items to a Book List, simply browse the collection or search for a particular book, author, etc. Once you find one you’d like to add, select the grey box next to the item, then click the dropdown labeled Select An Action… From here, choose Add to Book List, select the book list you’d like to add it, and click Save. You can even change your default Book List here.
Once you add it to your Book List of choice, you can navigate back to your My Lists page and view it in its appropriate list. By putting books in a Book List, you are able to save them for later — whether it’s to put it on hold, print off an entire list of books, or even get the Call Numbers for the items texted to your phone! Book Lists give you quite a bit of flexibility to manage your To Read lists as you please.
