In celebration of April as Financial Literacy Month, Huntington City-Township Public Library and the Purdue Extension of Huntington County are partnering to present a free workshop on basic money management, “Budgeting 101”, at 6:30 pm on Monday, April 21 at the Main Library, 255 West Park Drive, Huntington.
Karen Hinshaw, Extension Educator, will lead participants in learning how to track family expenses, find “spending leaks” in their budget, and develop a spending/savings plan. Additional topics will include planning for emergencies, future spending, and taking control of family finances. No personal information need be shared at the event, and those who attend will also go home with a resource list of local agencies available to answer questions and assist them along the path to more effective money management.
Registration is recommended; please contact the Library’s Reference Department at 356-0824 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
